Tenminmix Competition by Dj Tutor

Tenminmix it's a competition from DJ Tutor that happens every month and the best mixes with ten minutes or less win some prizes. Mixing in key - An help to build a smooth set

So i already posted here some tutorials on Virtual DJ, that is a DJ Software that allows you to play musics and mix them like a professional DJ.
So now it's time to talk about another important topic, key, that will be very helpfull when you start creating you set. To have a very smooth mix between to songs, besides the bmp (beats per minute) that must be similar (you already noticed that), they should have a similar key because because it will be easier to mix and will sound better most of the times.

I will try to do a series of tutorial soon on how to begin constructing your mixes and your sets but for now i leave here some videos that explain the importance of the mixing in key. Those videos are from DJ Tutor (ellaskins youtube channel).

In alternative to the Hercules e2 USB DJ Console that i showed few days ago we have here the U-Mix Control Pro from Mix Vibes that is also not a much expensive equipment and you can do a lots of cool stuff with it.

Also DJ Tutor Channel has a lot of video tutorials to help you become a DJ like "How to mix", "what gear to buy", "how to make a set", "how to mix different genres of music", etc. You have a lot there, i know because i learned most of what  i know from there, but soon i will make a review on his youtube channel and website.

Hercules e2 USB DJ Console - Review

Hercules e2 USB DJ Console it's a midi controller designed for Virtual DJ but can work with any other DJ software that suport midi controllers. This product cost near 90$ and it's a great way for beginners to start Djing. Hercules e2 only has a USB port for power and pc communication and it's very small and light. With this and a PC you can start your Djing carrer with a very small budget, and trust me with this you can do a lot of cool stuff. I know it's not the same as 2 Pionner CDJ and a Mixer but for beginner DJs and bedroom DJs it's not bad for the price.

Virtual DJ Home Edition it's free to download

Virtual DJ it's a very good DJs software and it's a good way to start Djing without spending much money.
With this Home Edition you can do pretty much everything except little things like broadcast, output video in full screen, use a microfone or any other hardware to control Virtual DJ (this one is bad).
In the next days i will do a video review on this free DJ sofware.

"Music for the weekend" will be like a weekly post with a set of musics that can be either musics of the moment or great musics from the past.
To start i leave here a part of the set that i played last year on a summer party here in Portugal.

Wellcome to our new music blog

This website was made with the simple objective that people can share their taste and knowlege about music. I already had one youtube channel but it was stoped two years ago due to lack of time and hopefully now with more time i will be able to put it back up and running. So we will see lots of music and mixes, music software and tutorials. I'm not a DJ, i just like dance music a lot and i'm looking to share that taste with other people like me.
